THE GOAL:

A ballet is an artistic performance composed of characters, costumes, music, settings, and of course, dance moves. Together, they tell a complete story and make a beautiful show. The goal of this game is to build complete ballets with all of their elements. The player to collect the most completed ballets is the winner! Each complete ballet consists of 10 cards with 2 of each element: Character, Costume, Music, Setting, and Move cards.

THE ROUTINE:

Remove the 5 Ballet Title cards from the deck and lay them horizontally next to each other on the table.
Shuffle the cards and deal 8 cards to each player and place the remaining cards in a draw pile. (After all, 8 is the magic number for counting in dance!)
The player who wears the smallest ballet slippers goes first. Players take turns with the dancer on their left going next, continuing clockwise.
Each player plays one card at a time. Place your card under the coordinating Ballet Title Card, building the ballet by stacking cards in a column to ensure headers and icons can be seen.
After each play, draw a card from the draw pile to ensure you always have 8 cards in your hand. If you play 2 cards, draw 2 to ensure 8 cards are always in hand.
THE Cards:

The card deck is comprised of 85 cards and showcases 5 ballets: The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, Giselle, and Coppélia.

There are 12 Move Cards: Each Move Card shows a different dance move.
Each ballet has 13 cards: 1 Ballet Title Card, 3 Character Cards, 3 Costume Cards, 3 Music Cards, 3 Setting Cards.

There are 8 Special Cards: 2 Steal the Show Cards, 2 Block the Steal Cards, 2 Pas de Deux Cards, and 2 Intermission Cards.
